eBay pick(s) of the day: Sennheiser 441s
Sennheiser MD441 (#1)
Sennheiser MD441 (#2)
Sennheiser MD441 (#3)

Back home from the dude ranch (photos soon!) and completely exhausted. So tired, in fact, that I almost cribbed this listing from Matrix Synth instead of recommending something of my own finding for today's eBay pick.
Fortunately, my daily search for an affordable 441 turned up these three gems, each with a Buy It Now of $309. From the look of things, you'll have to track down your own case and clip, but for $309, instead of the going rate of $450, the additional legwork hardly seems like an issue!
P.S. That's $309 with shipping!

We're in Quincy

We're in Quincy, CA. Tonight, we're singing "Setting the Woods On Fire" in front of real cowboys. Fingers crossed, we won't get stabbed.
Look for photos/regular postings again on Thursday or Friday. In the meantime, here's a Korean karoke video of Jim Reeves singing "He'll Have to Go" and "Adios Amigo"-- a regular two-for-Tuesday (on a Monday)! Enjoy.

Skyle!

Skyle, The Tender & Vulnerable's hosts and tourmates last summer in Germany, are finally on MySpace, with a website very much in the works.
Here's a photo from our show in Berlin:

If your band is planning a tour overseas, and doesn't mind being upstaged by another group on the bill, be sure to book a show with these guys in Darmstadt!

eBay pick of the day: 1966 Vox Phantom XII
Vox Phantom XII (Stereo)

Yes, yes, yes. YES!!
This is one of the models that Phantom Guitar Works has yet to reissue. Speaking of polishing chestnuts, where is the Guitar Organ clone I've been hearing about for the last 15 years? Enough with the dallying already-- the world is ready for round two!

eBay pick of the day: Fender Princeton Recording Amp
2006 Fender Princeton Recording Amp

New Fender amps aren't the sort of thing I usually spend my eBay time looking for, but this one is pretty cool-- it's like installing a pair of Yellowjackets in the back of your old Princeton Reverb, but with more flexibility after the fact to mod the attenuation to taste, and without having to worry about rolling the dice on biasing problems after you've removed and replaced the tubes.
Also, for $600, the price is right.
Naturally, there's a video of the amp on Gear Wire.

eBay pick of the day: Deltalab Effectron II
Deltalab Effectron II ADM 256

I have to agree with the seller's description: every studio in the world that still uses outboard delays has one of these. Sure. It's a novelty delay. It doesn't sound pretty--and it certainly doesn't make any claims about sounding "natural"-- but if you're looking for something that sounds very much like a digital delay, this is your go-to machine. And, at $100 or best offer, this one ain't too bad a deal!
It's got a flanger setting on it, too, but, come on, really? You're not actually going to use a flanger, are you?

Metal Slug ports
One of my guilty pleasures is a cartoonish, side-scrolling, third-person shooter called "Metal Slug." There are about a half dozen different versions of it, and they're all totally addicting. Check 'em out.
Ever on the lookout for distractions at work, I recently came across two unlicensed Flash adaptations of the game that have really eaten away at my productivity:
"Commando"

"New Metal Slug"

eBay pick of the day: Lexicon PCM 80
Lexicon PCM 80 digital reverb

A working PCM80 for less than $700? Now we're talking! This one comes with a manual, too, which is necessary for PCM80s and 90s. And LXP-5s, while we're at it. You ever tried using the MIDI remote with one of those without a manual? Madness.

eBay pick of the day: RE-201 w/ extras
Restored Roland RE-201 Space Echo w/ 5 tape loops

This is an amazing deal. A restored RE-201, with five extra tape loops and free shipping, for $500. And by "amazing deal," I mean that $500 is pretty much what a RE-201 is worth, but seeing an "actual cost" price on one, on eBay, is about as rare as finding one of these for less than $6000.
