Noise from Sunday
This is what was happening in our apartment, loudly, on Sunday night, for a few hours:
I've given up wondering what the neighbors think of us.
(In the frame at 0:52 are the scratch negatives of these prints. On a related note, Thee Iran-Contras will be in Portland, OR in June!!)

New Passive Utility Box
This is a break-out box for The Rogue's inputs and outputs (A=audio, V=control voltage, G=gate), as well as for two points on a patchbay which is otherwise inconveniently located on the other side of the room (the "O" jacks). There's also a 3-way mixer and a 4-way multiple. Nothing fancy, but it's something I've wanted to have on hand for a while. Thanks for the motivation, week-long flu infection!
EDIT: the mixer section doesn't work. You'd think I would have learned something from the last time I tried this, but nope. Same idiot. Instead of troubleshooting my way towards a working mixer, I'll probably just swap the pots out for 1/4" jacks and extend the multiple down a row (with a SPST switch in the middle of it) for a 2x 3-way or 1x 6-way mult. Actually, that's definitely what I'm going to do. Photos after the conversion...

Grouper show: TONIGHT!
Jess had gotten us tickets for the Grouper/High Places show tonight at the New Museum, but because I'm (to borrow a phrase) too sick to move, we have opted for Plan B: listening to Grouper and High Places LPs at home.
Unfortunately, we don't have the High Places record, but what we've heard reminds us a bit of the Tomutonttu platter from a couple years back. No, they're not exact matches, but you get the idea and we've got to get this non-dance party started!
If you're in New York, there's still time to get to the gig. It "starts" at 7, but these things never happen on time. Make haste, music fans!

I Was a Teenage Ghoulardi Catchphrase
Dispatch from Shamblers HQ:
I've got a fever and a pretty gross cough. From what I've heard, everyone else does, too. Open thread time: are you sick? Do you have those symptoms? Is this the "superbug" I've read about?

Have any of you been to either of these places?
Toe Rag Studios in London:
Carousel Recording in Brooklyn:
If so, what are they like?? They're both still open from what I can tell and look like a ton of fun.
