Thanks Moshe!

Moshe, our man in Chicago, found the great looking Astatic D-104 you see below in a Pittsburgh thrift store recently and was kind enough to send it our way. Thanks!!

With that said, can anyone point me in the direction of a 4-pin (F) --> XLR (M) cable? The pins on the 104 chord are in a square pattern, and not in the sort of smile curve that something like this would require. Greater ham radio community, I'm calling on your help!

Also, here are some nice daylilies that Jess picked up, in our honorable George Washington vase. Spring (well, summer) has sprung.

Just/finally bought "Green Blues"

Picked up a second-hand copy of Matt Valentine and Erika Elder's (out of print? Really?) "Green Blues" CD earlier today. After minimal sleuthing, I found some of their smaller press stuff for cheap, too-- $9 for this one, this one and/or this one. Here are Three MV CDs for $10. This disc is almost at a walloping $12 right now, which, even still, seems like a nice price for a hand-made, edition-of-99 thing.

Record collecting has never been so easy. Remember when things sold out and then they'd be really hard to track down for a while?

Anyway, they're playing at the Knitting Factory on June 12th, and at Johnny Brenda's in Philly the next night. Everyone should go.

This just in...

One last thing before we ship off-- The Shamblers are playing a free show on July 12th, 9-ish pm, at Hank's Saloon in Brooklyn. Apparently, some sort of Johnny Cash cover band is on the bill, too. Always a good time at Hank's. Be sure to tell everyone you know.

P.S. July 12th is Jess' birthday!

EDIT: We're probably playing at Union Hall on June 19th as well. I'll confirm/deny that when we get back into town.

Svenska bound!

That was Jess, about a year ago, bragging about how cool our stylish collection of power converters are. Admittedly, they do look good. And now, finally, we get to try them out!

We'll be in Sweden for the next few days, riding bikes and looking at castles. Expect an old fashioned slide show next week.

Until then, here's a scan of some beautiful Swedish money:

Shamblers sportscaster debut

Rocks and Roots, a tee ball team of five-year-olds out of Metuchen, NJ asked us to lend some color commentary to their game this past Sunday against The Abilitees, also of Metuchen. The game, a series of kids-do-the-darndest-things hilarities, ended in an 18-18 tie.

We've got the bug. Contact us if you need anything announced over something else. We work for, literally, peanuts.

Can't stop listening to

Ethiopiques Vol. 4

I bought it for this song, but the other 13 on the comp. are equally good. It's on eBay for $3 here and, I'm sure, in the cheap-o "World Music" bin at your local about-to-close record store as well.

Pick it up!

eBay pick of the day: Delta Lab ADM465

Delta Lab Triple Tap Delay ADM465

There are 4 days left in this auction and no one's bid on it yet! A triple "head" multi tap delay for $0.99? These prices are insane!!

The seller (the aptly named Clutterby's) also has an Effectron up for auction, but hands off everybody. That hunk of junk is mine!

Our first Otari

We got a deal on a 4050 (less than 1/6 the price of this one) and now have an Otari tape machine in our studio. Granted, it's no MX80, but it's a start!

It weighs 50lbs, has stepped gain and is absurdly large. I love it!
