What does your personalized eBay say about you?
I just checked eBay for the first time in, um, days, and lo and behold, there were some "great finds" waiting for me:
Shure SM7s and busts of Alfred E. Newman. Thanks eBay.
What sort of things is the site picking out for you?

On the list
Click here to see the current "proposal" list for the 33 1/3 line of album review books. Scroll down and you'll see, between Television's "Marquee Moon" and They Might Be Giants' "Flood," the erroneously named "The Murderbirds" album by Thee Iran-Contras! No kidding!
The Murderbirds were a version of Thee Iran-Contras that formed over the summer after a handful of the Contras couldn't make it to the recording session. The songs were released as a self-titled CDr on Colonial.

We almost played live on the radio...
...not on purpose. DJ Scott McDowell was pulling for an unannounced Shamblers! Live! coup on Daniel Blumin's show last night during the WFMU Holiday Party. It didn't happen.
Click on the January 10th show and fast forward to 1:04:10.
"That sounds like a horrible situation!"
Oh man. Thanks anyway Scott!!

What else?
For those few of you who read the blog for non-synth related news, I bet you're wondering what we've been up to. Here's an update:
1. Jess knits her first sweater, for a baby:
It turned out perfectly! The second one, not so much, but I don't want to go into that.
2. Pete sews his first garment, pajama bottoms:
Great, right? The top part is forthcoming.
3. Lots of Christmastime fun with the family, particularly with the nephew:
He is so drooly and fun.
4. We got a slow-cooker for Christmas! And a hand blender!
For more kitchen-related news, head over to Sunday Vegan Sunday, our sister-blog (literally, a blog of ours along with Jess' sister, Laura).

Starkey Hearing Science modular
Does anyone know anything about this machine?? Was it a hearing test tone generator? Was it a logic computer of some kind? How hard would it be to build? That sort of thing.

Happy New Year!
We celebrated the New Year in our usual way: starting a new band and recording some new songs just before midnight.
Kate + Jess + Pete = The Trainwrecks
Split 7" with The Speers out in the Spring (or sooner). Stay tuned!
Anyone do anything fun last night? Also, a belated Happy Holidays!
